Discover the most beautiful castles in Posavje
From April 10 to 17, 2026, Posavje will become the capital of the Castles of Posavje Festival. Listen to the centuries-old stories of the most beautiful Slovenian castles, walk through their corridors, where you will share steps with counts and countesses and learn their secrets up close.
On Tuesday, April 14, we invite you to take a closer look and learn the story of one of the most beautiful and best-preserved Slovenian castles – Mokrice Castle.
Upon arrival, Countess Barbara will welcome you with an aperitif of castle sparkling wine and introduce you to the history of the castle and take you through the secret corners of one of the best-preserved castles in our country. This will be followed by a golf demonstration day on the 18-hole course of this breathtaking golf venue.
We will also prepare a mini culinary journey through the flavors of the castle’s Restaurant 1444, which impresses with its seasonal, local and modern dishes inspired by traditional local recipes. You can pamper your taste buds with a duet of castle pâtés, ravioli with porcini mushrooms and aged cheese cream, and a surprise castle dessert. You can see the full program here.
