This year the holidays chose the weekend
All Saints’ Day 2026 falls on Sunday, 1 November. In Slovenia, Reformation Day lands on Saturday, 31 October, too. No bridge day, no long weekend.
The lucky ones? Slovenian pupils, off school from 26 to 30 October, and Austrians, with ten days off in a row. Everyone else can do the maths: two days of annual leave plus a weekend is a proper mini break.

Time for yourself – maybe without the kids
Time for yourself is not a luxury, it is maintenance. So here is our advice: call grandma and come to Čatež as a couple.
The Wellness Riviera is adults-only – 1,000 m² of saunas, open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Massages at Grand Spa Terme can be booked online before you arrive.
November is even quieter. Short days and warm water make the perfect setting for Wellness for couples 365 (from €414), valid until the end of the year.
Lord and lady of the castle for one evening
When did you last wear that outfit “for special occasions”? A few minutes from Čatež stands Mokrice Castle, first mentioned in 1444. In its tower, Restaurant 1444 cooks with local ingredients.
